Kongsberg M1914
Morning all,
I am currently in the process of upgrading my office systems and so am trawling though some of my old gun photography.
I though you 1911 addicts would appreciate this M1914 I briefly owed a few years back now.
UK Deactivated (not by me before you start phoning for a hit man) but sensitively done with intact locking lugs to the slide and barrel.
A rare bird and a very interesting 1911 derivativeAttachment 77029Attachment 77030Attachment 77031Attachment 77032Attachment 77033Attachment 77034, a pleasure to own, if only for a short time...

Beautiful pistol, what a shame!
I always tell my collector mates to put originality at the top of their priority list, originality isn't something that can be restored. I've never seen a 1911 I didn't like.

I have to say I would have been personally very happy to see this piece exported and kept live, it was in excellent condition and had clearly seen little use. One of the very few 1945 made M1914's to be waffenampt marked..
It's now in a large private collection. An important and rare piece to be preserved and studied.

Interesting to think it was Wa, so some German was carrying this during the war. That would have made a nice bringback...

I have some of the steel cartridges that are bored for the 22 rim fire cartridge that were used with the Kongsberg M1914 conversion kit to shoot 22 rim fire

I believe only 900 odd Wa marked examples were made in 1945 Jim, dought it was ever issued or had more than a few hundred rounds through it.
The condition of the original parking and the tight action suggested that it it never saw post war Norwegian service, it probably got stashed away at the end of the war and remained hidden for years.
I also have a few pictures of an Operation Marketgarden captured Wa marked Fn Hi-Power that passed through my hands (this was another sock drawer piece), captured by a private in 1 Para who's Sten had jammed and "employed" it against it's previous owner!
If anyone's interested I will post the pics in the appropriate section.

I'd like to see it of course. I also had a Waa Hi Power back in the '70's when you could find that sort of thing. It was a proper 1935 model though...not a UK or CDN captured pistol.
