Here's a pic from Detroit-1 of his "R" marked front band.
Thanks for the help with the picture.

R marked M1903 front band
Attachment 77478The R marked band looks fine to me. Here's a picture of one on my early Remington M1903

sad to say this is a repro bayonet lug.
look a little closer at the genuine bands pictured, and notice a milled flat were the screw head sits, the band also has a cast line at the end, and is way over sized.

Yours is vastly different from the one in question in post #1...

Brian,
Your statement about your screw makes me ask if your screw is an A3 or 03 screw. If the screw threads are next to the screw head then it is an 03 but if it is on the end of the shaft then it is an A3 screw. Pictures below:

Its an 03 screw,What I poorly described was how the screw seat is shaped. It seems as if the threaded side should be relieved more on the example I provided not "domed" or more pronounced.

I was just curious if the repros were being made for the A3 screw. They are easier to find than the 03 screw.

You are correct. I was looking at detroit 1's pictures instead of the OP's ( which, after looking at it, is obviously fake )
