These where purpose built rifles, not old converted Mosins. What is really odd is why, in 1952, with all the Mosin Nagants lying around in arsenal storage they would even produce these rifles. There are 3 of them I have so far documented and one of them has a different S/N prefix so one can conclude there where possibly up to 2,000 of these produced (999 per prefix) yet more have not surfaced. This rifle was bought from an retired employee of CAI who unpacked these rifles when they came in, buying this one you see above.
