Looks like metal fatigue. I had a receiver come apart once, left side at the bolt track. No reason except it was old...

Would this be a Problem in the future ? or it will be okay. It is a Very Nice Carbine.

Can't say. Mine was fine and then it wasn't. Then it was scrap...

Okay...I think its time to take it off my Watch List and Move on.

Without being able to see more...
I'd have 2 thoughts...
Did a bolt sheer the right lug, causing the left lug to do the damage?
Or maybe vise damage while replacing a barrel?
Would really need to see the inside.
Cheers,

Reading this makes me uncomfortable about taking my paratrooper to the range once in awhile. I will probably never find another one, at least not without paying a fortune.

This is where I am with the older hard to find guns. Yet when I mentioned it, I was shouted down by the ones that insist they must ALL be shot. (Much like a few people I know...) If you break one, you'll be hosed to replace it. And, heartbroken.

That settles it. Initially I took it out one time, 100 or so rounds. Showed it to a dealer friend who said it was the nicest he had seen up close and he advised me not to shoot it also. I'll play it safe and take something else to the range from now on.
You are right Jim, if it broke I would be heartbroken and kicking myself forever.
