Talking Can anyone identify this Disk??

A stock disk on my MLE (sporterised unfortunately)

    hope this photo works

    unit is MR

Its a beautiful old rifle and i'm curious of the history of the rifle. The action and barrel were replaced here in NZicon with BSA parts early 1920's

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Disc Marking possibilities

From Skennertons "The Broad Arrow" possibilities Page 114 Unit & Issue Markings M.R = Madras Railway Volunteers. Page 117 Australiaicon - Colonial & State Governments - New South Wales M.R = Mounted Rifles. Page 123 Canadaicon Military District No.2 M.R = The Mississauga Regiment, Military District No.10 M.R = The Manitoba Rangers.

The M.L.E was in service from 1895 - 1926 so the disc could read 5th Mounted Rifles July 1922 535 being the rack No. others may be able to assist more but thats my take on it.

If it's in NZicon then my guess is 5th Mounted Rifles (Otago Hussars). Judging from the chewed up screw head it may not be the original disk to the buttstock.

Regarding the disc in post 1, did these discs ever/often get stamped on both sides with different information? If so I think that I may be tempted to have a look on the reverse of the disc to see if there is anything on it.
