In Canada
, we did have a great supply of M48, M48A, M48BO, M24/47 some years back, but they have been all gobbled up from the dealers. Nowadays, the best way is to scoop one from one of the equipment exchanges on the gun forums. I see some nice ones for sale from time to time on CanadianGunNutz or CGN. I see the odd one at gun shows here in Sask or Manitoba, but not many.
I have never seen a Mitchell's Mauser up here. They do look nice and would likely make a good shooter, but the absolute BS that shows up in their ads is disgusting. They make it sound like these rifles came out of a crate from under Hitler's bed. I don't recall the prices, but they are likely as outlandish as the ads.
If there ain't a gun range in heaven, then I'm going to hell.

You pretty much nailed it on the head. Nothing wrong with the rifles, it's all the marketing and the price that goes with it.

I have done business with Allan several times and have been perfectly satisfied. Good luck.

Thanks for the link, I got the rifle in today... Looks pretty nice overall. A few marks and discoloration on the wood stock, and the floor plate is stamped ugly (at least compared to most I've seen) but I can't complain.
Sadly I'm still unpacking from our move so I may not get around to cleaning the cosmoline
and shooting it for a week or so.

Good for you. If you're also new to cosmoline, there are good and better and bad and worse ways to deal with it.
The last couple of times I used low heat to remove the "heavy" stuff. Using the rifle-length cardboard shipping box, I directed the flow from a counter-top bathroom heater into one end, set the dial thermostat to cycle so the box internal temp was around 120F. Let the rifle inside "heat soak" for about an hour or so. Wipe it down and it's ready for disassembly. You can put the wood back in the cardboard "oven" for awhile and see if more cosmoline seeps out before using any kind of oil finish. Might be more, might not. You're still left with detail cleaning, but this gets it to the point where you can handle it easily.
Good luck, and thank you for your military service.
