I'll get an adjustable wrench. I will reckon the flats will be cut in imperial measurements, so that will come in handy. Also, do you know what finish was used on the wood? Just in case it needs a little restoration...

The Bren gun was made to metric standards and threads due to licensing agreements. The wood was finished in linseed oil
only. Before you start to assemble your Bren Gun, you ought to find a local metal finishing company locally and have all of the parts bead blasted and chemically blackened. If you do not do this, you will soon see that it looks bad and in a year or so, you will strip it all down again and do it properly. To make it look like a correct skeletonised gun (that is what the SKN stands for.....) you should paint the edges of the cut away sections in red.
Before you screw the return spring tube into the butt slide (the lower section) please come back and I will tell you the CORRECT way to do this.

Thanks for the info. I suppose that makes sense since this is a Brno licensed weapon.
I am personally not a huge fan of refinishing as a whole. I'll rather keep the patina and protect it using wax. I'll first have to judge the condition, since the picture really doesn't do justice.
As for the red paint, I will certainly do that. There is none left anyways.
I will certainly ask for help during critical steps of reassembly. Thanks for the proposal!

How much blueing is left on the receiver; is it the flash of the camera that has made the picture in post 1 look like little blueing is left?

Again, no idea. I would have to inspect when I receive the heavy package on Monday. I will not be expecting brand spanking new, especially considering the price I paid.

You Joke but there are metric and imperial adjustables! There is a scale down the side of the jaw.

I'd want the open end of correct measure, metric if it be. Those sort of wrenches can be hard used and need to fit correctly. An adjustable is never quite right.
