Your crosshatching extends further up than any other trigger I have seen. You going to post more pictures of the rifle?

Does any one know what A8072 means? Lee W.

I think it might be an obsolete USMC TAMCN (Table of Authorized Materials Control Number). Curently, and during my time in the Corps, weapons TAMCN's started with an "E", but this may be an old obsolete TAM number.
It might be some type of museum or unit inventory number also, but they certainly went wild putting it on every part of the rifle. Someone either had a lot of time on their hands, or they wanted all parts of this rifle to remain together. Is A8072 also on the bolt anywhere?
Post some more pictures of that puppy. Is the bore in good shape?

I think we would all like to hear the story. I know from experience that the best rifles sometimes just fall into your lap.

Ok here's the story;About five years ago I bought a high numberd RIA from this guy at the Tulsa show,at the time he had this rifle on his table also and he said "that's a RIA match rifle" well I noticed it was of mixed parts, and politly walked away with the other rifle. When I got home,I told my Dad that I thought his so called match rifle was a good one and that I should have gotten it too.Dad said"you can't get them all"Since then, twice a year,I have tried to find his table. For some reason this show I decided to cover my table and walk arround early on Friday, normaly I try to sell something first. The second row I walked down was the one and there it was.I told the guy that I had looked for him for the last five years and that I wanted the match rifle,He told me that he had a small stroke after that show and this was his first time back.I have no idea where he got the rifle, but after he sold it to me at the old price,I didn't wait arround to talk.I thought it was a special rifle but at worst it was worth it's parts.Lee W.
