Looking at the rear of the rifle I do not think it has a rear sight either judging by the others.

That's correct, that's the one missing both. So his is lighter than the rest.

Bit like when we shot pistols doing burgler practice point and shoot at center mass not that it made any difference we could never say to them "Hang on while I get my H/gun out of the safe, unlock the ammo section, load up and have a crack at you." In the US theives perhaps think twice when people are home lest they face a H/gun or maybe a 12 gauge...
