1903A4 correct M84 mounting position
Hello,
Usually hanging out on the Lee Enfield forum but decided to finish up a 1903A4 project that I haven't touched in a few years.
I have an A4 that has a nice C stock with rebuild stamps on it. I decided to mount a rebuilt M84 scope that I have to make a Korean era type A4 out of the rifle.
The question is:
Does the front scope ring land between the sunshade and the adjustment mechanism or should the scope be further forward with both scope rings aft of the adjustment mechanism?
I mounted it with the scope ring between the sunshade and the adjustment mechanism and I like the scope relief but I have a feeling I should have the scope further forward on the rifle.
I don't really want to split my head open with the scope ring under recoil.
Thanks,
Brian B

Various TM's and reference books will show the m84 mounted both ways. The better way of doing it is to locate the scope as far forward as possible (with the W/E turrets in front of the front ring).
