At first I was sorry I missed out but now not very sorry. I missed seeing in the original post that it is corrosive. As I no longer like to take my M1 icon

into the shower with me I would have passed. lol

Thanks for the heads-up while it lasted! We can all make up our own minds about our willingness to use the corrosive stuff but it is nice to have the option.

How exactly does one clean up corrosive on a Garand icon

? I'm thinking mainly the bits of powder residue that get around and under the front hand guard being a real pain.

I've been told that since it is just a salt, all that is needed is soap and water. One fellow I spoke to said he took a bottle of soapy water with him to the range and ran it down the from the breech until he could get home and field strip the rifle.

Not really a good deal since they recently sold non corrosive HXP SPAM cans for the same price. I passed since I don't have a bolt gun
