That flag
The patriotic flag flapping around would be a bullet magnet or bigger stuff if the mortar crew has eyes on you with it waving away, a picture for the masses at home no doubt the conquering heroes all nice and clean, well fed with nice uniforms.

"Last Stand of Fox Company" detailed the smorgasbord of weapons carried by the Chinese attackers, many of them US captured from the Nationalists when the Reds took over. In one story the Marines even found what must have been the Belgian ABL in 30-06.
Real men measure once and cut.

I knew a man that was there and he said "We say lots of Japanese
weapons" as in almost exclusive...that's where he finally got the Nambu pistol he was after.
