How much oil should a gunstock take
Greetings
Aside from the SSA no1 mk3 i cleaned up recently, i have also been oiling up a NOS stock for a no4. I started the projects at the same time with a new can of 1L Tung oil. That can is well over half empty, probably approaching 2/3 and the No4 stock is still sucking the stuff up, especially on the end of the butt
Is there a point where it becomes too much?

When it's saturated and softens on you...I'd give it a good slathering and stop. They soaked the wood over night in warm oil and then removed and drained, wiped it clean.

Too easy. Only the buttstock is getting oiled now. Everything will sit for a couple of months until i get to drop an action in it
