Further progress made today, The hand guard was cut and had to use the dremil to take out some wood so it would locate properly, the problem is to get to fit snug the screw holding the cocking tube had to be removed and the tube slid forward so the guard would fit in, I could of cut it shorter but wanted a good fit, so it will need an access hole drilled in the left side, apart from that it went well and fits like like a glove, over all very pleased, totally transforms it.
The silencer tube is just for show and cosmetics, *the barrel is thin and could also be cut back 4" if I permanently fixed a bar from the rear going through the stock, as this would keep with in the required overall legal length which I may do later on...
*(if the barrel was shortened to the minimum of 12" and the butt stock removed its under the legal size of 24" and could be fired different story if it couldn't be used)
Just happy to fit the hanguard at this stage, some tweaking to do here and there, need to sand blast the socket for the butt, phosphate and paint, trim the hand guard at the rear or chamfer so doesn't look like its just had a saw through it. Also need to make a plate that fits in the rear of the rifle that secures the bolt assembly and find a small spring to fit in the ejector.
Forgot to mention Zib Militaria also sent a calender....
