I think you're correct that they were sent from Canadaicon post WWII as aid to many countries. The '46 date stamp is perplexing though and the deep black blue finish isn't consistent with a Canadian FTR. Maybe they were reworked in Europe again at some point after being sent from Canada as aid. Some of these rifles were used well into the 1970's and even 1980's before being surplused.

If they were reworked in Belgian wouldn't there be some sort of stamping? For instance the Liege stamp. Greece seems to make sense. Darker finish, lack of markings.
