Spinning off from another thread, what foods do we consume today that started as military rations? I can think of three off the top of my head.
SPAM=WW2
M&Ms=WW2
Goldenbergs Peanut Chews=WW1
Any others?

HMMM, I thought Spam came out for WW 1?
