According to Ferris, P.87, list of observed examples:

Note: for Eddystone M1917s, the correlation between receiver number and barrel date is not precise. The assembler took a receiver out of the bin and a barrel out of another bin and put them together. So sometimes barrels are much earlier than the estimated receiver date, probably as a result of being at the bottom of the pile for some time before assembly!
