Aguila 30 carbine brass?
I bought a box of this because Aguila 22 rimfire groups well in 3 different guns. But the 30 Carbine through my, most accurate carbine, the UNDERWOOD, didn't punch any noteworthy groups, but cycled OK. When I tried the Aguila in my 30 carbine Ruger Blackhawk the fired cases were difficult to extract. The BH handles other headstamps just fine, including fairly hot 15 grain/H110 loads. Wondering whether I should bother reloading this brass for the long guns. Have any of you reloaded Aguila brass?

And were probably about the loudest thing you'd ever heard...

Reloads fine. Stretched a bit but typical for .30m1

I will keep the brass based on your comments. I have loaded lots of different headstamps and Aguila brass is lighter than any others. Is the Blackhawk loud? I guess so, but after 74 years of rocknroll, motorcycles, USMC, D8's, chainsaws and tractors, loud is relative. But the concussion and muzzle blast, now that is something to behold. Yet recoil is moderate. Like others on this forum, the M1
carbine is my most loved gun. But that Blackhawk pistol is real accurate and a perfect sidekick both at the range on on the farm.

Yes, it would be. The carbine is in the rack and the revolver in it's holster. When you load for it you could tame it a bit and still function the carbine fine.

Ideally a lighter load would be best for off hand practice with the revolver. I have been shooting H110 and IMR4227, from starting loads to close to max. The stouter loads seem to be the most accurate with best groups in the 1 1/2 to 2 inch range at 20 yards off a bag. Would be nice to find a soft load with good accuracy. How about a slower powder like LilGun. Or maybe a faster powder like Accurate 9 or Alliant 2400. You all have given great guidance in my search for pet loads for the long guns. Anyone have a pet load for the Blackhawk?
Had a laugh the other day. Shooting the Blackhawk off a Cabelas bag. The concussion blasted the stitching loose so every time I fired I got covered in a shower of white plastic pellets. 30 Carbine in any gun is just plain fun.

If you're loading just for the revolver, you can load very light for practice. I'd want something that goes between both... Try this site. Shows for pistol specific... Set your sights on pistol reloading data | Hodgdon Reloading
