Looking for info on original ar10's

Always, it looks like somewhere along the way the brown fibrite furniture was painted green like the early AR15/M16 was. I had a rifle show up like that and black over top of the green. Not knowing what I now do, I commenced to removing the enamel coating...it must have been because nothing I had, chemical wise would touch it. It was just plain stubborn. I wonder if this was done by user or factory...

Well worn old vet but looking mighty fine. It would still keep them a long way away until you decided differently...
