So given the information that we have in the picture what would be the most appropriate way of clearing this road block if we assume that we need to get it out of the way? Would it be a case of trying find the explosives/detonators and then making it safe before clearing it away or would it be wiser to place a charge at it's base in order to blow the whole thing up?

Grapnel across and pull it apart. You don't know where the explosives are planted - on the hill, roadway, etc to cause more damage.

Blow 'er down from outer space with beehives. If you lay the explosives next to the hillside, it will blow the whole affair over the roadbank and down the hill. It may be rigged to crater the side hill road...then you're hooped. Vehicles in line behind can't get out and can't go up or down...typical of cratering and ambushes. As Daan says, the explosives could be rigged to 100 yds back and be sitting under you when you fire the Beehives too...

Ok thanks Jim. So how far would people and vehicles ideally need to be from this road bock before setting off a charge to destroy it? If the road could be booby trapped to 100 yds back, would it be sufficient to get everyone back to 200 yds?
