VZ 24 also is it fake?
Can any of the enthusiasts, collectors, and vz 24 aficionados please give me what they'd appraise this piece at?

No import marks that I can see. Matching Bolt. No signs of rust or pitting, except a little ring around the firing pin hole on the bolt face. There is a little etching from what I am sure was corrosive primers. Really nice deep lands and grooves in a shiny bore with no frost. Very few dings or scratches on the stock. Leather sling, and slightly bent cleaning rod.

Tops out at $450.00 locally. Just not that many collectors here.

Thanks for the reply Calif-Steve. Yeah, I agree. Many folks are telling me the same. I shot the 8mm for the first time yesterday and I want that thing even less now. lol. I am a sissy. The 8mm is no joke. Knocked me around like a red headed step child.

Good cartridge to re-load. Drop down in powder and get less velocity and recoil.

I'm thinking this and a limb saver are a must!

The Yugo
8mm loads are typically pretty mild and very accurate, my current load that replicates it is similarly easy shooting. Also a good candidate for the CE Harris Red Dot load, though I've yet to play with that in 8mm.
If I had to guess the premium on that gun is due to the lack of import mark, but without papers it is just that, a gun without an import mark, especially when it is something that was imported widely in recent years. They have started going up recently but $750 can get you into other, more interesting, Mausers.

VZ24's in good condition are tough but it seems to me the more sought after are those with the lion crest. In any case, $750 is way high.
