I became aware of this when I worked for Loomis Armored Car as a hi-risk courier. We had to pick up Eddie Bauer and when I did the transaction at the counter, I see little bottles filled with dirt for sale. They were labelled "Eddie Bauer dirt"... The adage came to mind, "Some people will buy anything"...apparently...

When I was still in the army, another soldier had purchased a large piece of property just outside the city, it was somewhat neglected and reflected in the price. The land was littered with rocks that were in the way of his mowing equipment, so he placed an advert on the local buy and sell (kijiji) looking for someone to come clean up his property.
He was a clever sort and advertised:
Landscaping Stones, $150 each.
Various sizes available, must bring own truck.
The local Urbanites flocked to the property and nearly stripped it bare by the end of a summer, paying him $150 per rock to come clean up his property. He used to laugh and laugh about it, and each Monday morning he would tell us of these people that would show up and dump a 300lb stone into the back of a KIA hatchback or other inappropriate vehicle.

I saw a WASR that was coated with bed liner. He said it was a "Stealth AK" that did not reflect radar waves! LOL
