The two silenced guns shown weren't Mk2S's and Mk6's. They were SOE variants with the larger dia silencers

I was hoping there would be a modicum of firing going on...doesn't matter, I've heard them...or not heard them as you wish. Love the pipe wrench marks on the first demo model they showed.

The first one has a MkV magazine housing. No VS prefix and on the underside of the housing “VI” stamped.

You're suggesting a close assembly of parts flying in formation? How do they say it...a parts gun?

Maybe the housing was damaged and had to be replaced?

The effective range sounds about right.

I'd still like to have all of those shown and about a case of 1200rds of sub sonic 124 gr 9MM...go warm them all up a bit. A la' Otto Skorzeny...in the garden.

The Mk2 looks correct as does the Mk6, what's the issue with the Mk5 mag housing?

The Mk1 photo looks like it may have been Rod Woods posted here a number of years back.

124 gr seems to be the best. It’s considerably quieter than 115 gr, the gun cycles nicely and it has some energy. The subsonic stuff, 147 & 158 gr is the quietest. The bolt cycles very slowly. There’s not a lot of energy. You would have to be close to do any good. The loudest sound comes from the rounds hitting the target. It would be interesting to see what 158 gr would do with an unvented barrel in the suppressor.

BP, thread 8. Our standard issue silenced Mk2S and 6 guns had silencer tubes 1.5" diameter.

The EMER also states quite clearly that the S indicates a '.......silenced gun whereby indicative of its....etc etc'. A bit like the No4T where the T indicates Telescope.

Why don't they read and ask. One of the biggest bug bears at Warminster were the people who would write a book (some who REALLY should know better too.....), send us a complimentary copy, only for you to write back words to the effect '....thanks, but why the xxxx didn't you come over and speak to us first' EN in Sten......... Both Harold and Reg stated to the commission of awards to inventors that it indicated ENGLAND!
