1903 Mark I prices
I just went through the gunshop here in Beaver, utah, and found a 1903 Mk I for sale, not in great shape, redone metal, poorly I think, and the guy still is askin g $2,500.00. Is this reality or just bravado? thanks, duggaboy

1) Lack of knowledge, &
2) Wishful thinking.
An ALL ORIGINAL Mark I, at that price may be worth considering; they are quite difficult to find. But, a refinished one is worth about the same as any other common refinished 03 or 03A3.

Remember, that gunshop only needs one fool. "Let the buyer beware".

There were 100,000 Mark 1s made so they are not uncommon. What is difficult to find is a Mark 1 with all the special parts that make it a Mark 1. These, beside the cut out in the receiver, are: sear & trigger assembly; magazine cut off & spindle and the stock, which had a relief cut to match the ejection port in the receiver. A Mark 1 with all the correct parts in exellent condition is greatly overpriced at $2500, even $1500, perhaps even $1000.
