Looks genuine, the threads look bad which is why it isn't on some carbine. They are definitely not common since they were only used a year before the type three came out. I'd naval jelly that unit. They are worth more than the other two when in decent shape.

Threads aren't buggered at all, maybe just appeared that way in the picture. I slid this on the end of my M2 and used the screw from that and it tightened down fine. I just threw it in the ultrasonic cleaner we will see how it comes out. It looked much worse in the photos but high resolution always does. I appreciate your input
