Yes, lenses separating. They need to be cleaned and reassembled. I had a two draw telescope come from Stateside with that exact thing. I removed the lenses and cleaned and reset them. All was well. Peter will be along shortly and tell us...

Was watching it with interest, the seller sold the can separate, can for £435 and scope and bracket for £1,809.00

If the buyer is in the UK then read my article in the next day or so regarding imports over £900.......

these tins were made and sold here in Australia during ww2 for people to send cakes etc to their loved ones overseas in the services.

maybe 10 years ago I was doing some incoming goods sorting for one of the local charity shops and came across 3 (well 2 and 3/4) of the long log cake tins. I think I paid 50c for the two complete ones and gave them to my mother for the museum she is involved with, the incomplete one I threw out. ooops.

During WW2 a family friend who had emigrated to Canada sent "food parcels" to my family which included "rich fruit cake" in round metal tins that had printed photographs of Canada on the outside of the tin. I believe that this cake was professionally/factory made cake that was packaged in these round metal tins. I still have a couple of these tins, minus the cake, that were sent from Canada, which when I can find, I will post pictures.
