Numbers and letters have been commonly seen on the rear 'Shelf' on WRA Op Slides.
Thought to be a Inspectors mark, or shift, station... etc.
But common.

Thanks painter777 could not fine anything on extra markings on the slides.

With WRA you'll often find numbers/letters inside the hand guards, inside their stocks on the right edge or on top of the wood bridge. Trigger housings often found with a letter stamped outside/underneath.. etc.
Either shift or work station location, not really sure.
But again......... Common.

It's an 'I' and is an inspection mark, as in the slide passed a certain inspection protocol ID'd as 'I'. From what I've seen, all Type V slides have 'initials' of the same type but seen in different locations. I had a Packard for Inland Type V with a 'V' on it which I thought meant 'Type V' for a long time but then I saw another one with a different letter, so that idea went out with the trash.

Especially since I started on the original Culver forum. That had to be about 1998.
