1903A3 Stock

Went out to the range with my A3 this past weekend, and with the exception of my ejection issue it still fired like a champ and kicked like a mule. Anyhow, the last part I need to return the rifle to as close to original military spec as possible is the stock. With my rifle being a 1-43 build, which stock would have been on the rifle, the straight stock, or the semi-pistol grip stock (C-stock is what I think it is called)? Best place to find an original stock? I have gotten a couple of offers to trade or sell my sporter stock, but I am going to keep it since I am not 100% sure the stock is not causing my ejection issue and I don't want to pass that off to someone else, and while at the range I chipped a piece on the stock and was unable to find the piece among the thousands of spent casings at the range. I believe all of the orginal 1903a3's were the straight non finger grooved stocks. They are also channeled for the receiver lug. Some may have come out of a rebuild with scant or C stocks, some of the Greek returns and CMP rifle have been noted to have them. You can keep an eye on epay, or post a WTB ad here, there may be a member that has one to sell.

All M1903A3s were originally issued with straight stocks. Some M1903A4s were issued with scant stocks (the semi pistol grip). Anything other than that is the result of a switch at some point.

Both Sarco and the CMP have M1903A3 C stock repros available.

The straight handled stock is what I thought would have been on the rifle originally. Now I have to decide if I want to find a straight stock or get the C-stock.

One other question, what's the difference between the C-Stock, and the scant stock? From what I've been able to tell, they both have a semi-pistol grip, but I don't think I've seen pictures of them back to back.

Even more importantly is he has a bunch of pictures to copyrighted material on his website. To top things of he humps up stocks (I mean restores cartouches)!!
