That's all I was trying to figure out

It's sort of a common knowledge thing, I'm surprised the guys selling them don't know that. Winchester only produced WW2...the later builds were two satellite companies that started up well after the fact.

The first M1 rifle sent to Winchester to study and evaluate was Springfield serial number 1607 in Sept 1938, none of the other firearms manufacturers receiver any examples.

Winchester production started in Dec 1940 and ended in 1945 with the Win 13
