New here need help with Smith Corona please
I have very limited knowledge on the 1903.
I have two barreled actions made by Smith Corona dated 8-43,
the reciever is marked 03-A3.
I am wanting to buy a stock and put one of these together, I have no clue which stock to buy, I saw type 10 & 11 for sale on ebay.
I also dont want to have more money in it than it would be worth. one is pretty complete with bolt and trigger, sights, and barrel band seem to be there also. the other is just a barrel and reciever, I plan to get rid of it eventually.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, also an estimate of what the stock, forend, trigger gaurd, and butt plate should cost me.
Thanks William

I'm no expert but I believe the type 10 stock is what it would leave the factory with. A type 11 is a field replacement stock. With a mixmaster rifle, either would be appropriate. There is a slight difference between a Remington stock and a Smith Corona stock. Something to do with the front band and spring.
For prices, best bet is sold prices on ebay or gunbroker.

"Type 10"? "Type 11"? What's that??
Helps to give a brief description, rather than forcing everyone to go looking on the Internet to find out that that means.

Thats Kind of why I asked here, I figured there were some experts on the subject matter who knew the difference in type 10 Vs. type 11 stocks would be able to enlighten me. Thanks for the help, I will look up those websites ron.

no such thing as type 10 or 11 stocks.
that was made up by Harrison.
you need a straight stock pinned or cross bolts. with the correct markings for a Smith Corona.. {if your rifles are original} if they are put together from drill rifles then use what you like,

They're barreled actions, they can't be original...the finish won't matter now. You may have to refinish them after anyway.

I guess I should have used correct instead of original. Thanks.
I'm just not wanting a 1990 chevy truck with a 1970 bed on it so to speak. I'm ok that the truck is blue but someone had to put a green bed on it.

You could just send them over to Chuckindenver and he would likely complete and certify them for you...be way easier.
