I would say quite confidently that there would never, ever be an occasion where we would be issued with RAF blue webbing and told to blanco it khaki. There was never a shortage of the real McCoy in my experience of being issued with, cleaning, scrubbing, brassoing, crawling along and cleaning again after it was thrown down the corridor and being told that I was a sack of shix, as was my feeble attempt at blancoing. And then blancoing it all again and putting it all back, exactly folded as per the room NCO's instructions on the top of our steel lockers. We had every variation ever made - but never ever got RAF stuff. I often used to dream of meeting up again with the likes of Cpl 'Piggy' Nxxxxxx and reminding him of the joyousness of throwing not just MY webbing, but the whole rooms webbing down the corridor. And stand up properly when you speak to me Nxxxxxx........., I'm not your mate.......... I'm sir to you! Ho, ho, ho,ho
Do you ever wonder why I look pitifully at webbing collectors.............
That blanco colour in thread 13 was very similar to the colour we had while I was attached to the Cheshire Regiment and the KSLI

I just found an entire 12 puck box of KG3 blanco in my shed.

I can't believe that I have just read through this section on blanco and webbing collectors............. Talking of 'Piggy' Newton, I DID meet up with him again at a reunion i Carlisle. He was still as gobby but a more mellowed and nice bloke.
