Found a 1939 1911a1
Is there anyway to find out what ship this gun could have been issued to? Serial # is 174803 most parts are original, except slide and main spring housing which is checkered instead of the 7 groove. Blue I got is gone and has very light pitting on frame and a few big pits under grips but nice solid gun. Slide is from a 1941 so probably an arsenal rebuild?
Slide fit and barrel lockup are both very tight no play at all. All internal parts are in very good shape, some very minor pitting.
Looks like whoever it was issued to went over board at one time. Wish these guns could tell their story.

Love that 1903 with the rack numbers. I'm a sucker for rack numbers!

USMC rifle from what I found, has a brand new USMC marked sedgly barrel, pencil engraved bolt and most all parts are Remington, aug 41 serial #.
Had to have barrel finish reamed and it shoots extremely good.

It's a 1969 Dodge Daytona, took twelve years to restore it. It's a great car to drive but sure attracts the police and everybody that thinks they have a race car.
Took the old rusty 39 1911a1 out to the range and at 25 yards it kept my hand loads into a 3" group. That's good for me offhand since falling off the roof and breaking both shoulders.
If the moderators don't mind I will post my old cars.
