Cartouche over stamping?
I may have posted this before, but I can't recall. My 03A3 has 3 P proofs on it, one in a circle two in squares. One of the squares has been stamped over the original cartouche, is that a common occurrence when rearsenaled several times?

Looks like your weapon passed through San Antonio Arsenal twice to receive the C-SSA stamp twice on both sides plus the post war P in a square proof stamp

It is pretty common to see an "overstamp" on arsenal inspection stamps. I have a 313,000 range that was overhauled ca. 1915-1916 with a "script" inspection stamp overstamped with a JSA stamp.

I have one in that range that has a stock that has "been around the world" a time or two.
Several over stamps. Purchased from CMP
a few years ago.

What's up with the front end Rick? No transverse screw?

Yep, I took off the screw to expose the plug for the fore-end of the stock and neglected to put it back before I took the picture.

That is why there is a gap there, yes?
