Magazine repair?
So I just picked up a Savage Mk4 no1 and wist I was doing a function test I found the rifle had feeding problems. I have managed to figure out the the problem is with the magazine, The rounds do not rise up to a level where the bolt can cycle them. I was wondering if I can replace the spring (If that is what is wrong) or just replace the magazine with a modern production one.

most likely the feed lips are bent from an American bashing the mag in (M16
style) Search on here and you will find more information on the feed lips and how to tweak them

The lips are forgiving but you have to play a bit to get them right.

Also make sure the magazine is fully in. I've had that happen; it can feel in but not fully located in the latch. The bolt will glide over the top round's when that happens.
Worth checking before you buy anything.

On some mags, the spring will fit two different ways while only one way is correct.
