Do the scope and bracket match the rifle? ...snip...
one of mine is matching.
It may well be the only matching VZ54 in Canada
.
Certainly it's one of the few in America del Norte.

From what I understand, until the imports of the last 10 years or so, the majority of the VZ54 in the US seemed to have been Vietnam capture bring backs.

There were only a couple hundred imported to Canada
in the 90's early 2000's so they are quite rare. I've only seen a couple of others over the years. The majority had mismatch scope/bracket assemblies but one of the three I've seen was all matching. Mine, (one of the three), also has a mismatch scope/bracket but is in otherwise excellent condition.

I'm not sure about captures from Vietnam but it makes sense. The three I've seen are excellent plus condition and I'm guessing they all came from Canada.

My record was three Vz.54 snipers total, but sold two of them and only kept the best one... but at least mine has a ZG51Sn ancestor sitting right next to it!

Mine's rifle number V3164 and scope bracket number V3131. It's pristine just like Mike's. It is the example used by ATF FTB in 2005 for addition to the Curio and Relics list.
