A stronger spring holds the heavy bolt forwards against the cartridge for longer and as such takes far longer to allow the bolt to accelerate rearwards.
Yes...again with the theory of API...which I still insist is black magic... So in theory a heavier spring keeps the breech closed longer and is even SAFER than a weaker spring...

Instead of a long discussion about it, we should just have a milsurps convention in Nevada and blast off 50,000 rounds of 9mm into the desert.....in magazines of 29 rounds.
