I've had very good success injecting glue into the crack using a no 8 needle getting full coverage. You have to open up the crack just a little bit maybe 1/64 of a inch & holding open with a wedge after injection is complete you pull the wedge and wipe off the excess that squeezes out and let dry 24 hours wood should be clean before starting. When dry crack becomes invisible you have to look really hard to see it.
Just a share guys it makes the job easier also really happy with the out come did it on my Savage 99 butt also never know it was ever cracked.
