Last California AMMO e-Buy
So down to the wire. I have time to make one more order for ammo before the California no out-of-state and no mail/internet purchases of ammo law takes effect and the CA ammo vendor take their prices to a level considered rape because there is no longer any competition.
Since I have a family to feed and house I been struggling with what ammo to buy based on my unknown future rifle purchases. I'm pretty sure there is an 8MM Mauser in my future and a .22 WRF, I also have to feed my 30-06 (trouble deciding on bullet weight) I've less than 100 rounds left. I;m good on My 7MM, 303, 762x51, 762x39, could use some 7.62.54R, need some 30-30 i'm sure although I never shoot the rifle, Might need some .300 WMAG even though I don't shoot that much either.
F*&^ California

Perhaps it would be cheaper to pack the family ,the ammo, and the small slice of freedom you have left and flee. I know It is easier said than done.
Wish all the remnant remaining in Cali all the best but I don't see it getting better any time soon.

Did I hear correctly that to buy ammo, you'd have to pass a background check?
If so, I'll assume there will be a $charge for this?
Was this a voter passed law?

I guess the idea must be to choke off the ammo used by gang activity. That should eliminate their gunfights and drivebys all together...there, safe at last...

Vendors must have Department of Justice approval to sell ammo – Current retailers with an ammo supply may stop providing ammunition altogether due to the process of getting DOJ consent. For hunters and shooters in rural areas who rely on mom-and-pop sporting goods stores, they may need to seek out a new supplier as well as plan on driving a lot farther to find the ammunition of their choice
Importing ammunition – Californians must go to an ammunition vendor that has been approved by the DOJ. If a resident orders ammunition from a website, the ammo in question must be sent to an approved vendor for the consumer to pick up. Purchasing ammunition out of state and then returning to California runs the risk of carrying a misdemeanor charge of transporting ammo across state lines.
Transferring ammunition – For anyone who has ammunition they are looking to part with, you will need to enlist a DOJ-approved vendor to complete the transaction, same way you would transfer a firearm to a new owner.

Surely one can see it coming, the small town bait and tackle shops and hardware stores...etc that carry just small amounts of popular ammo for locals will stop doing so. Most won't have the time and money to get buried with DOJ over watch and paperwork.
When younger I can remember riding my bike 'Up Town' to grab a box of .22's from the combination Hardware/Barber shop.
Also from the link I posted....
The last regulation of the year to roll out is on December 31, 2017 which is the deadline to register an assault rifle:
“Assault weapons” are now defined as “semiautomatic centerfire rifle, or a semiautomatic pistol that does not have a fixed magazine but has any one of those specified attributes”
If I'm reading the article correctly... It looks as though you could buy ammo over the Internet
as long as it's shipped to a DOJ approved shop. Where I assume you'd have to do the background check? and pay the extra fee, like your transferring a gun.
Any word on HOW MUCH AMMO ONE CAN OWN?
Best of Luck,

All these laws and rules for law abiding citizens in a state that allows a 5 time deported Illegal (wanted for a 6th deportation) free to walk. The 7 time Felony convicted idiot then uses a stolen LEOs' gun to Murder a 32 year old named Kate Steinle.
Then these same dead heads who voted in these new gun and ammo laws set as jurors and find him INNOCENT........ YES NOT GUILTY of all counts, except one: they decided Garcia Zarate was guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
After some time spent in a Federal prison for illegal RE-ENTRY, Zarate had been transferred to San Francisco's jail in March 2015 to face a 20-year-old charge for selling marijuana.
The sheriff's department released him a few days later after prosecutors dropped the marijuana charge, despite a request from federal immigration officials to detain him for deportation.
Fear the courts, the Jurors are your peers... Same ones that vote in these 'Laws'
Absolutely insane......

That's is actually the goal. We will be looking for land in Texas next year but will not move there permanently until 2023 or so unless I can convince my wife there is a better school for our son there and I can find a job that will pay the bills. At least I will have a place to keep my firearms when Californa goes gun free. You know its a shame, California gun owners are doing it to themselves when I hear them complaining I ask two questions; 1.) Do you vote and 2.) are you a member of a local, state, or national gun rights organization. More times then not, the answer is No to one or more of these.
You would think that for the price of three boxes of 308W they could help protect their rights. SAD.....

Its worse than that;
The first law: January 1 - You can not buy ammo mailorder or on the internet, You can not buy ammo in another state and bring it in.
The 2nd Law that is coming later in two parts: First the stores can't display the ammunition, you will have to ask for it. Then you will need to get a background check to buy ammo, you will have to pay for it and supposedly it will be good for 3 years.
