It is possible to use 1 piece rings to mount an M84. However, it requires you to spread them (with a huge amount of force), effectively ruining the rings, & then use some heavy duty tools to bend them back around the scope.
Wouldn't it be easier to just use 7/8" to 1" shims?

I never did it, but I have seen it done, &, yes, it was not pretty.

find the correct 7/8s split rings, do it right the first time,, rather then doing it 3 times

I believe Bill Ricca has some A4 screws still listed on his Collectors Corner. If so, they may be what you need.
