guys were actually relieved to be prisoners of the Yankees.
One or two look quite ****ed, but the others seem to feel good enough to be smiling.

This is probably the rifle platoon that captured them. POWs were handled by MP platoon and they are identifiable easily by uniform markings. These guys aren't them so I suggest this is ahead of rear ech. It only takes one man with a shotgun to guard many...who wants the first dose of buckshot? The war is over for a prisoner, why chance getting killed at the end of a losing venture, which they had at that point?

Hey fellows want a photo with the POW's? Probably just misc troops from the company that were hanging around invited to get in to the photo with the POW's

Maybe, but those guys have bandoleers and such on them as if they're involved. Not really hangers around...
