For sellers like this, I propose a universal ad text:
"Whatsit used with something whenever!
That covers just about everything. And the suckers will still bid!

"Perhaps this is the new standard for auction descriptions. No longer need we be slaves to precision, accuracy or pesky details. Why bother researching what the sling or bayonet is..."
Nowadays you're in the lucky tip top if you get even word of description aside from the pictures, occasionally bad, out of any seller, besides the paragraphs and paragraphs of legalese they always manage to find time to put in.
Except for: the one other type of seller I have seen cropping up that copy and pastes or writes up the entire history of that type of item/firearm. Surely if you have wholly never even heard that a certain firearm exists and don't know what it is you are not going to read one item description on an auction site with the entire history set forth and suddenly decide you need to spend literally thousands on it!
But the absolute worst that is now becoming more common are those sellers who don't have a single clue what they have, can't do a 10 second internet search, but they know they want a lot, lot, lot of money for it.
