military barrels
Hey All,
I have an Eddystone with a JA barrel. It shoots pretty good considering, but a friend was there with me knew what to look for and didn't say anything about the JA. I took this rifle for the stock over other ones with the E barrel. Was wondering if anyone knew who might have a E barrel. Been looking high and low but only find repro's. E Bay had them and Liberty Tree has them from time time...anywhere else I can find them?

JA is for Johnson Automatic.
Replaced during arsenal refurb after WWII.
They’re generally regarded as good barrels and can be worth $150 alone.
Personally, I’d leave it. It’s a symbol of the history of that rifle. Trying to make all the parts match would ruin that history.

Exactly. The rifle was all matching once in its life, any work to 'restore' it back to how it came from the factory is ignoring the actual history of the firearm.
