Hindsight is a wonderful thing...... I do remember the Pat Walker guns adverts that where in the Uk Guns Review, although this one doesn't have many rifles, its the Sherman Tank advert that I like, I doubt you would get much change from £500,000.00 today.

Blimey! That's stirred my old memory banks! I remember being offered a Sherman up & running for 6.5k at about that time, or maybe a few years beforehand. I think a batch came out of Portugal, along with a load of WW2 German small arms, such as K98
's & MG34's.

I like the jungle carbine advert, how it was used for "jungle in-fighting."
As to opposed to jungle out-fighting?
Me am confused.

I have a memory of Pat Walker Guns being shafted by the police, as was a dealer in Wiltshire at about the same time??

I think Pat was caught with a stash not on his register ? although he was converting full auto stuff to Semi which never drew any attention at the time, I think the best story is the one below of which he sold to someone,
it involved a lad who had a 7.92 mm rifle on his ticket, I suppose back then it didnt raise too many eyebrows but the Said "rifle" was in fact a MG42....... he come to renew his ticket and the routine security check the MG42 stood out...... All his stuff was seized etc, but his dad was a top Judge..... The Firearms dept was trying to get the MG42 working on full chatter, but little known to them the owner had never shot it as he couldnt get it working from day one.... In the end the Cheif Constable took caution regarding the Judges letters etc, so his stuff was returned, the owner being the kind of bloke he was, He sent a letter to the Firearms dept thanking them for the return of all his firearms and a big thanks for getting his 7.92mm rifle working again.........

I was offered one for £4K in 1985 or 6. I bought a new Ford Escourt instead.

I think you will find that the dealer in Wiltshire was processing military ammo on a farm (not a location on his ticket) by tumbling it in a cement mixer.
