Brauer Bros Slings #12 and #13 (Military?) Slings

Has it ever been confirmed that #13 Brauer Bros made 1.25" and #12 1" leather military slings and for what years?

Copied from elsewhere...this doesn't say anything about slings. Leather goods is many other things. "In 1918 and 1919 Mr. Brauer manufactured eighteen million dollars worth of accoutrements for the United States, and for the English and Greek governments in 1914. "

I see quite a lot of their holsters around here - not shocking considering I’m only a few miles from where they were based.
Wouldn’t mind having some of the military stuff for my collection.

Non specific...so I think it would be about everything, leggings, saddles...harness. Smaller stuff too...the slings wouldn't be a reach but those aren't military contract stuff.

I was reading some older forum posts on slings and a number of them were people asking about Brauer Bros slings and if they were issued. No one ever answered the questions, they always seemed to wander off on to other military equipment. I just wanted to know because it made me question it, I often look at slings for sale and Brauer Bros sling sometimes pop-up. Just wanted to make sure I was not excluding a military sling manufacturer.

I need two more slings one for my 1903 Springfield (manufactured in 1905 ~ 1918) and one for the Model of 1917 I just got. I'm a bit cheap and a bit anal; which doesn't make for an "easy find" but I am patient and things normally show up that meet both price and quality.

Try a Kerr No-Buckle...maybe the others too. Beware there are three different lengths available according to rifle...or Thompson.

Looks like they made some scabbards for the 1917 Bolo. I know Plumb, also in St. Louis, made some of those knives. Now that would be a nice local rig for me to have.

Yes they did...we had a thread here on them a few months back...

Brauer Bros. Mfg. Co. (Brauer Brothers Shoe Co.) St. Louis, Mo. Manufactured on Ordnance Department contracts during the Great War, Bolo Scabbards, Canteen Covers (M1910 and M1917), Feed Bags, Saber Scabbards. Brauer Bros. may have had contracts with the Quartermaster Department.

Bruaer Bros. manufactured an unidentified leather holster on Navy contracts during WWII.

Gunslings M1907 was not listed and the slings subject of this post are not to government specifications, probably manufactured for commercial sales post WWI.

Many companies disappeared after the war because they had changed to manufacture for the war products and when the war ends, contracts are automatically cancelled. Many immediately went under...and were gone...
