PO-Q Front Sight For M1 Carbine
Can someone please help me with some information. I have read on a few forums the the PO-Q front sight was rare. Can this be confirmed?

I have 1, but have seen very few.
A completed auction search just now on Ebay and GB show no results for a PO-Q.
Neither site has current listing with a PO-Q.
With that it would seem to be they are rare at this time.
I'd guess a value of $50-$65+
Did see where a N marked sight with the blade height number on the outer left ear (S'G') #5 recently sold for $145.00
Hope I didn't Jinx you and someone finds a crate of them tomorrow.
Cheers,

Thanks for the help. Trying to help a friend price and sell some of his M1
Carbine parts. I could not find any auctions for a PO-Q sight as well, so thought I would turn to the experts on the forum for help.

Predominantly used in the last block of Qualities serial numbers. I don't know how rare predominantly means in this case but there are rarer front sight.

Thanks Bruce! Any particular markings I should keep an eye out for in my friends collection? Does not have to just front sights

IP marked parts are worth more than average as are S'G'. Then Rock-Ola. Add an early part marked by them and the value can go up.

I had this big reply typed out and lost it when I hit preview.
JQ being a solid Type I would be correct on your QHMC.
Is it Original ? Would be best to see side staking.
I have some photo albums from a friend I can use for comparisons of most every make and part. To include things many of us either may not know about or think to ever look for.
They are lengthy and take a while to sift thru. But are priceless to me.
I was sitting here thinking a JQ was a stamped Type II until my brain clicked back on.
Any one ever seen a QJ Type I ?
I don't recall ever seeing one.

Both look really nice, hard to tell the real color from pics. But look for signs of previous staking on the sides.
