Is the trigger guard stamped steel and enlarged?

It does not have the winter trigger. In further reading, the dot marked guns had lowercase suffixes; but, I have seen some photos of R and T-block dou guns (on either side of mine), and they were uppercase. Here is a link to the photo gallery:

A very late 1944. Lots of odd rifles show up in that time frame. I would guess a war gun.
