Romania developed the PSL because the SovietUnion stopped exporting military equipment to them after they refused to join the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia
in 1968.
They still wanted to follow the soviet doctrine of having one “marksman” per squad who could reach out beyond the effective range of their assault rifles (AK’s) and hit a man size target.
The PSL is basically a cross between an SVD and an AK. Some people claim it can deliver one MOA under the right conditions. I don’t dispute that. I just think those conditions must be pretty rare. If you are getting 1.5 MOA, I’d say you are doing well.
The way I see it, the ability to quickly deliver follow up shots makes up for the accuracy.
