Hand stamped carbine
I just picked up a 12-44 Inland hand stamped carbine. Serial # 6688410 All original. Has anyone figured out how many Inland stamped like that?

Hand stamped Inland carbines are neither rare nor common, but are probably better stated to be unique. Still, some carbine collectors have a take it or leave it attitude towards later production guns like the hand stamped Inland since they don't have the early features for the most part.

Thousands of them. Started about 6,700,000 to 6,900.000. Pictures of your receiver will tell right away.

I'm curious about the stock. Does it have a selector cut or the long barrel channel? I have a "hand stamped" Inland from early '45, s/n in the 6.94M range with a flip safety, but figure it originally had the "push" type. - Bob

No cut short channel. Unmarked push safety.

It sure looks like a hand stamp. It is a little bit early from printed information about hand stamped receivers but it's within 32,000 of the reported starting point. I would say it's legit.

Inland handstamped carbine started as early as the 6.67 range (some argue earlier) and continued into the 7 range if I remember correctly. This gun is very legit and a nice pick up.
