Remington Model 11 - Military Finish
Just a little sneak peak here. It needs some cleaning and then I'll put up some decent pics. These are from the auction house.
This one is staying with me for the foreseeable future -- to be honest, I practically stole it from the auction and I know I won't ever see one this cheap again. It was an online absentee auction then a live auction following that. I can't understand how I snagged it at the price I did!
Moral of the story, the deals are out there! Ya just gotta look

Just a quick update on this for those interested.
It had a nice frosting over of surface rust so I decided to finally attempt the stainless steel wool folks have suggested for this.
I have to admit that I was skeptical of the whole "harder than the rust, softer than the bluing" claim so I did attempt this on a junker shotgun magazine tube I had laying around.
I used a Scotch Brite brand stainless steel scrubbing pad (Walgreens for a few bucks).
I am a convert! Wow! Even with relatively heavy pressure the bluing still looks great and the heavier spots of rust even came out.
I found the surface did appear to get lighter in color while scrubbing but I think that's from removing some oils. Once wiped down, it went back to its original color.
Anyway, I'm blabbering, here's a couple quick pics (ignore the messy background)

Thanks, Tom!
You can believe I was pretty amazed too.
For $5 or so these are a miracle and everyone should have some!
