Hate to bother, but can't find an '03 floorplate to finish my rifle.
Hey guys,
My Marine/Navy M1903 Christmas rifle is fine, but needed a few small parts for function, not restoration, that's ok but I don't restore.
Got a coupla' fine screws from Numrich and a floorplate. Well the floorplate is blued. The rest of the rifle has one hundred percent fine park. Figure it wasn't issued after rework and maybe sold through the old DCM or whatever.
It came with a nasty "Booger" handguard and will soon have a fine NOS Remington one that I got from Bill Ricca. Tung oil is curing as I write this. Color match will be very close. Will post photos when I am done.
Anyway, I would like to find a NOS or very fine dark parked TG floorplate. With what I like to call a #600 grit feel to the finish, that would match my TG perfectly. Anyone have a source for a GI floorplate as described, or maybe one that you would be willing to part with?
Certain good GI '03 parts are hard to come by. The NOS milled trigger guard was hard to find, had to replace the stamped one the rifle came with as it was bent and didn't allow the fifth round to feed.

Try Joe DeChristopher

Not the cheapest but good USGI parts, including some NOS or arsenal-refinished parts.

togor is right. Scott Duff first put me on to Mr.DeChristopher. He is definately the dealer of last resort to me. If no one else has it Joe is likely to. He has a lot of stuff that isn't on his website so ask. As the post above says, his stuff is never budget priced but I have never asked for anything that he didn't have in stock and everything is USGI, no repros.

Just a dumb question, but what do the initials "NOS" stand for in Lancebear's original post.

Try the Dealers Warehouse in Modesto, CA. Mostly mint in the wrap parts at decent prices. He is trying to make a living. DeChristopher is retired and doesn't care if he makes a sale or not.

Hey Togor,
Thanks for the link. He has floorplates listed. So doe Sarco, but you never know what you will get from the big guys like them and Numrich. I will try Joe if I have to. Thirty five bucks, but this part is difficult to find and he has a good rep. Thanks.
